Barlow Rd. Bike-n-Hike Parking Lot
Everyone,
For the Wednesday Morning Ride, June 4th we will be riding to Bedford by way of the Greenwood Parkway with a rest stop at the Bedford Falls Café. The route will be a combination of public roads and the Bike-n-Hike with flat to rolling hills. This will be an out and back route with a total distance of 37 miles and 1500 ft. of vertical climbing. We will be leaving the Barlow Rd. Bike-n-Hike parking lot at 9:00 am. We will have two groups if necessary. The faster group will ride at a pace of 15 - 16 mph. The slower group will ride at a pace of 12 to 13 mph. There will be someone leading the slower group and if possible, someone will lead the faster group. We will regroup as needed. Like all ABC rides, this ride is for current members and first-time guest.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before start time to allow for adequate check in time. As always, helmets are required on all ABC rides. Also, no ear buds and no use of cell phones for talk, text, or music while riding. It is also advised during daylight hours to use a good tail light and headlight when riding on public roads. These promote safety and alert drivers to our presence during all hours of the day. Please obey all traffic laws…safety is everyone’s responsibility. Also, make sure that your bike is properly maintained and is in good working condition. Each rider is expected to bring extra tubes, pump, multi-tool, etc. for any mechanicals you may encounter.
Thanks, Phil
