The 18th Annual

Think Spring Ride
10:30 am Saturday, April 17, 2010
at the Ledges Shelter in the CVNP

Start your biking season off with this beautiful ride through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The ride is rolling and hilly on longer routes through scenic and historic sites. See the Heron Rookery, Hale Farm and more. Bring your friends and family for a day of fun, food and riding. Door prizes, pot luck dinner, and renewed friendships.

Registration

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Ledges Shelter in the CVNP. There is no preregistration. The ride begins at 11:00; the ride is free.

Ride Options

There are 18, 22, and 33 mile ride options. The 18-mile route takes a paved bicycle trail; the 33-mile route climbs some hills. The ABC requires helmets to be worn while riding in club-sponsored events.

If the weather is poor, we will hike one of the trails.

Activities

Services consist of maps, limited SAG, food, and a roaring fire at the shelter. The after-ride meal is POT LUCK--please bring a dish to share and your favorite non-alcoholic beverages (alcohol is prohibited in the Park). The Club will supply soups, hot drinks, and plastic utensils. We especially need main dishes, since we get plenty of desserts.

Bike Fair

This year we will be holding a Bike Fair. This is a great opporunity for two groups of people to get to know each other, namely buyers and sellers!

Bring your for-sale items and we'll park/place them in the pavilion during the ride. We'll have tags available to mark each item with a price and the owner's name. Please bring BICYCLE-RELATED ITEMS ONLY. This includes bikes and bike components. Items will be sold by the owners and ABC will not be involved in any aspect of the transaction.

Directions

Meet at the Ledges Shelter in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Ledges Shelter is located on Truxell Road about 1 mile west of Akron-Cleveland Road and 2 miles east of Akron-Peninsula Road.
